It's always valuable to be placed in the top of listings. We have the 'most popular' section which list applications by their download numbers. This section gives you, as the author, a couple of tools to help promoting your software.
Increase download count
To increase your download count you could use a couple of tricks. It's possible to link directly to the download page which will increase your counter each time the link is clicked.

We are regulary making new buttons. One of them is shown below.
If you want to have an image made for a specific background and/or
size let us know and we might be able to create an additional one.

Create a 32x32 product icon
We list our products with product icons. Users partially judge your
product by this icon so make sure you at least have an icon.
When you have created one, save it as a .gif and make sure to update
your listing on our site.

We are working on many new features which general makes it easier to be an author. We are currently planning to include features such as message boards, site statistics (to display for end-users) and FAQs maintenance. Let us know which of these features you want us to prioritize.
