Idem automates file synchronization and folder replication. It secures critical data duplicating them from a computer location to another. This solution for mirroring of important folders from a Windows NT/W2K server toward another, checks a list of source folders at regular time interval and updates target folders with new or modified files.
It can be used to create a mirror for disaster recovery or to backup files. You can use Idem to synchronize a laptop on a network and for real-time mirroring of folders on ZIP drive, CD-RW, removable hard disk, network drives, local hard disk.
Fully preserves Macintosh filenames and structures stored on a Windows NT 4.0 / 2000 server running MacFile/SFM (Services For Macintosh) or a MacFile/SFM compatible server as MacServerIP.
Idem can check and copy the files and folders security informations (ACL permissions - access-control lists on NTFS partitions) and the files and folders attributes (hidden, system, archive, etc.)
Compatibility with :
- Open File Handler (Swat Consulting Inc.) in order to mirror opened files on Windows NT.
- WebDrive (RiverFront). In association with WebDrive, Idem allows to replicate files using FTP protocol (in order to update mirror Web sites for example).
Designed to works also as a Windows NT/2000 Service providing a report log with the list of files updated during synchronization tasks.
SumInfos (SummaryInformation) is a console utility allowing to collect summary information (properties) embedded with all Windows 2000 files. It deals with the collection of Microsoft Office documents properties and Macintosh comments stored on NT volumes.
SumInfos writes collected information on a text file.
Extracts Office documents properties: Author, Comments, Keywords, Last author, Template, Subject, Title (on Windows 95/98/NT4/2000)
Collects summary information for all files on NTFS5 volumes (Windows 2000):

Delenda identifies files older than x days based on file creation, modification, last accessed date. Remove or move files to archive folders.
3 methods for deletion:
- delete expired files immediatly
- delete and send files to Recycle Bin
- transfer aged files toward archive folders.
