Tweaking Toolbox for Windows, by Rose City Software, is a very cool program for making little changes to Windows. And I'm not talking about changing things like the colors. I'm talking stuff that would involve editing the Windows registry. And while I might feel comfortable doing that, it's not the kind of thing I'd recommend to most users. Tweaking Toolbox for Windows makes it safe, and easy!
One feature that I really liked was the ability to edit things found under "My Computer." For example, I could easily change where Windows looks for the "My Documents" folder. Or the "My Pictures" folder. That means I can put them where I want them. Another cool function lets you determine what components load in Control Panel. So, say you don't want to see the component for "Scanners and Cameras." Just uncheck it and the next time you load Control Panel, that component won't be visible. Very cool! You can fiddle with the desktop, Internet Explorer, and even security options. The program lets you make little tweaks in the Start menu, in special folders, in Add/Remove programs, and lots, lots, more.
Tweaking Toolbox for Windows, by Rose City Software, is a powerful program for manipulating settings in the Windows registry. What makes it very appealing is that it makes the entire process safe. Even a novice user can safely make changes and not have to worry about crashing their computer. So, if you'd like to make some changes and fiddle around with Windows, give it a try! You'll find it's intuitive and easy-to-use!
If you like working with graphics, you need to take a really good look at IrfanView, by Irfan Skiljan. This award-winning program is the one that I use whenever I have to do anything with graphics images, and I'll tell you why. For one, it can handle a huge number of file formats, including GIF, JPG, BMP, PCX, TIF, AVI, and lots more. You can use it to put on a slideshow of your graphics images, view animated GIF files, and multi-page TIFF files. You can preview files, resize them, sharpen the image, rotate them, and more.
IrfanView also lets you apply a large number of special effects, including emboss, blur, explosion, and creating a 3D button. A truly powerful tool that is perfect for all your graphics. It has support for drag-and-drop, batch conversions of graphics files, and even extracting icons from DLL and EXE files. How cool is that? Very! It also has an option to make it a part of your "Send To" menu. Using this, you just highlight a graphics file and you can send it directly to the program. Very slick!
IrfanView, by Irfan Skiljan, has so many exciting features that I could write pages about them. Suffice it to say it's a powerful tool that you owe it to yourself to check out. If you do anything with graphics this baby can make your task easier. This is a beautifully done program and it's also FREE for home use. Check it out!
Like putting things on CD? Well, if you'd like to really increase the kinds of things you can put on CD, take a look at EmmaSetup CD, by EmmaSoft Software Company, Inc. This nifty tool is perfect for creating your own, custom "front-end" applications. And when I say you can customize things, I really mean it. EmmaSetup CD can be used for a wide range of different projects, including things like slide shows, brochures, and even presentations. Use your own graphics and sound to really personalize your work.
An important point I want to get across is that you don't have to be a programmer to create some really cool stuff. EmmaSetup CD comes with "wizards" that will guide you through the entire process from start to finish. And, as you move step-by-step through the process you'll see your project taking form. You can go back, make changes, add, remove, and get things just the way you want them. Then, when you're ready, the program 'builds' your project for you and you can put it on CD. Another cool feature is that your projects will run as soon as they're put into a CD drive. No having to type in start-up commands and the like. Pretty slick!
EmmaSetup CD, by EmmaSoft Software Company, Inc., is a very cool tool that lets you create a variety of projects that you can put on CD-ROM. The program is intuitive and easy-to-use, and that makes it perfect for both new and advanced users. So, give it a try for yourself. I think you'll be impressed!!
