Spam Crusher, by American Systems, is a brand new program for filtering unwanted email, known as "SPAM" and it's a winner! I've tried just about every program available for filtering out SPAM, and this baby has got them all beat! What really amazed me is that the more you use it, the better it gets. Right now, it's filtering out at least 95% of all the junk email that comes in. And not just to me, but to my entire family! To begin with, it comes with a huge list of filters. The filters consist of domain names and email addresses of known offenders. They also contain questionable words and phrases. Then, Spam Crusher lets you add to these filters on-the-fly -- right from the programs "Inbox." You can block a particular email address or email from an entire domain. Block one at a time or a whole batch at once. This increases the power of the program because you're enhancing the filters based on the SPAM you get! So, every day, Spam Crusher filters more.

At the same time Spam Crusher lets you create a "Friends" list. You can add them one at a time if you wish. Or, you can import the address book of most email programs in CSV (comma-delimited) or text format. Those designated as friends will never be filtered. And, you can add friends on the fly too -- right from the Trash Can. I've found that they generally end up in the trash because they're someone you don't email. Like book sites, service providers, software companies, and the link. What do you do if you have someone like this get filtered? Easy. Just highlight that email and click the "Salvage Email" button. The email will be resent to you and that address is automatically added to your 'friends list. Very cool. And there's so much more I don't know if I have space to tell about it. But, just a few of the other features include the ability to view every email, launch your email program, filter multiple email accounts, define how often accounts are checked, limit the size of files that Spam Crusher will download, ban certain file attachments, and lots more. You can assign different sounds to each account -- one for SPAM being filtered and one for when you have good email to read. Or, you can have no sounds at all. Or, have some accounts with sounds and others without!

Spam Crusher, by American Systems, is a powerful, yet easy-to-use program for drastically reducing the amount of junk email you receive. It has an impressive list of features and functions, including a Live Update function so you can always have the latest version. In addition, you have the option of having your filter list automatically updated by the company every 14 days. Because the ability to use sounds, you can also use it as an email notification program, so it's serving more than one purpose. As I said earlier, I've tried every major program available to filter out SPAM. I handle a lot of email, and as a consequence of being online for 20 years, I also get a lot of junk email.
