Magic Notes, by Eskil Software, is a nifty little program for putting electronic "sticky" notes on your computer screen. With this program you can eliminate those paper notes that you post all over your computer, desk, and keyboard. One feature that I really like is that you can actually set notes to be reminders! So, rather than just using them to jot down random information, you can use them to keep you on schedule. Have notes that pop up to remind you of an appointment or some other task you're supposed to do. Magic Notes is extremely flexible and also quite highly configurable, so it works the way you want it to!
Magic Notes lets you configure the color of the note, the style of font, the font color, and the size of font. The program also comes with a "Note Organizer" which I've shown in the screen capture. This handy little window gives you instant access to all of your notes. You can hide notes, display them, fiddle with you alarms, and more! Very slick. And, you can even search through your notes to find a particular one, a neat feature to have. Magic Notes also works very well over your LAN (local area network). I had the program running on two computers on my network and could actually make notes appear on the other machine! Really a handy feature for use in a small office or home setting. You can configure the program so you can send notes across the network with just a couple of mouse clicks. Neat! And, if you wanted, you could even send note across the Internet. Nicely done.
Magic Notes, by Eskil Software, is a handy utility that's very nicely done. The program has a number of configurable options so it works the way you want it to. I found the interface to be very intuitive and the program is easy-to-use. That makes it ideal for both new and experienced users. The program lets you set alarms and reminders, in addition to keeping track of all your random information. And, if all that weren't enough, it's also able to work beautifully across a network. That makes it an ideal tool for both home and business. So, if you're looking for something to help you stay organized, take a really good look at Magic Notes. I think you'll like it --- I did!
MyPrivacy, by OmniQuad Ltd., is a first-rate tool for those who want to keep a tight rein on their privacy. And, besides being very nicely done, the program is free. You can use the program to clear all the junk files that you accumulate from the Internet. And, it will also clean the Windows "Temp" folder, where things are placed especially during program installation. But, for those who feel privacy is an issue, MyPrivacy will eliminate all of the "tracks" that you leave whenever you use your computer.
MyPrivacy gives you the option to remove all the traces that are left each time you go on the Internet. Keep in mind, however, that when you erase these things you also remove a bit of convenience. That said, the program will remove the infamous "cookies" that you hear so much about. It will also clean out all traces from you Internet Explorer "history." In addition, it will eliminate things that are stored from the "Auto-Complete" function of Internet Explorer. And it does a very thorough job! At the same time, MyPrivacy will also clean up the tracks left by just working on your computer. That means it will also clean out the list of recently used documents, graphics, and the like. The program will clear out all traces left behind when you use the "Run" function. It'll even eliminate the list of song files that you've used with Windows Media Player! Very fast and efficient!
MyPrivacy, by OmniQuad, Ltd., is a FREE program that you can use to clean up behind yourself. It does a very thorough job and eliminates all tracks that are left behind. This includes both things from just normal use and for surfing the Internet. The program is very well done. It lets you manage the "cookies" left on your computer, lets you disable the "Auto-Complete" function, and basically lets you wipe out any trace that you've been on the computer. So, if you don't want anyone else know what Web sites you've visited or what documents you've opened, this is a program you'll want to try!
GetRight, by Headlight Software, Inc., is a tool that I've used for quite some time. And, if you download anything off the Internet, you should use it too! File sizes just keep getting bigger and bigger. And what do you do if you're downloading an 40 megabyte file and your power goes out? Or your computer freezes up? Or you get disconnected from the Internet? You start over, that's what! Well, not when you're using GetRight! With this in place you can resume downloads that have stopped. And they start back up right where you left off! Very slick and also very handy! The program also lets you "pause" a download ... so you can start it up again at a later time. Nicely done, but there's lots more!
GetRight can also be used to schedule downloads for a later time. So, say you're wandering around the Internet and spy a file you want. Put it in your schedule and move on. And schedule as many downloads as you want. Later, at a time you determine, GetRight can dial the Internet, download the files you've selected, and then log off!! How cool is that? VERY! Heck, if you want, it can ever turn your computer off! Another neat feature of the program is that it can divide a large file into sections and divide different sections from different servers. That may sound odd but it can really increase the speed that files download at as compared to downloading the entire file from one server.
GetRight, by Headlight Software, Inc., is a powerful tool for managing downloads on the Internet. The program is loaded with features, but it's also very easy-to-use. GetRight is the kind of program that's ideal no matter what your level of experience. It lets you resume downloads that have stopped -- whatever the reason. It lets you schedule downloads, pause them, and even divide a download between multiple servers. It integrates with the most popular browsers and it's one of those programs I wouldn't be without. So, for that reason, besides being one of my "Picks", GetRight is also a Dr. File Finder Favorite! And those are few and far between. So, if you're on the Internet, and you download files, take at look at GetRight. I give it my highest recommendation!
