Add/Remove Plus 2003!, by Aurelitec, Inc., is a neat utility that gives you a handy way to remove or uninstall programs. I first found it out of necessity. I'd installed an update to Internet Explorer under Windows 2000. Internet Explorer worked fine, but I came to find that most of the "Add/Remove Programs" section in Control Panel, was gone! I evaluate over 200 programs a week and I had to be able to uninstall them. And in came Add/Remove Plus to save the day. After installing it I clicked on the handy desktop icon and there were all of the programs I'd installed. What a relief ... I could remove them after all! It totally removed the programs as well as removing them from the Add/Remove Programs listing.
Add/Remove Plus 2003 is the latest version of that program I first found, which was the 2002 version. In this version there's a nifty "audit" feature. What this feature does is let you either export or print a report of all the programs that've been installed on your computer. This is an excellent feature and especially for businesses or organizations like the military, that have lists of approved programs. Print out a report and you can quickly find out if something needs to be uninstalled!! The program shows you every program. And, if there's a problem with the installer of a program you'll find a yellow triangle beside it with an exclamation point. This is a really clever feature because it lets you find programs that are either partially uninstalled or have a bad uninstaller. What a great way to save wasted disk space. And you'd never get this kind of information directly from Windows!
Add/Remove Plus! 2003, by Aurelitec, Inc. is an extremely useful utility that works with all versions of Windows. And while I once used it out of necessity, I now use it by choice - time to register this 2003 version. It provides a quick and easy way to uninstall programs right from your desktop without marching off to the Control Panel. And, it provides features not found in Windows. Print reports of everything installed on your computer and find programs that have portions remaining that are wasting space! So, if you're looking for something to make uninstalling programs fast and efficient, look no further! Give Add/Remove Plus! 2003 a try -- I recommend it!
SmartDraw, by SmartDraw.com, is a drawing program for all seasons. You can use it to create so many things. Maps, flow charts, floor plans, charts for your company or organization, and so much more! It's flexible and if you have a drawing need, I'd bet that most of the time, SmartDraw can meet it. Want to do your family tree? In various colors? No problem! And you have such a vast number of resources to call upon. It comes with over 50,000 shapes, built-in! And if you want, you can buy additional ones. It also comes with a huge number of possible layouts. Pick one and you even get pointers on how to use it -- as you can see in the screen shot. Impressive!
SmartDraw, by SmartDraw.com, is a program that I've written about before. I first reviewed it in 1995, not long after it had been released. And, I reviewed it again in 2002 as part of my round-up of Shareware Industry Awards winners. But now, I'm reviewing it for a different reason. SmartDraw is extremely easy-to-use. It has a basic characteristic that I look for in every program -- it's intuitive. And that is so important. It's won the Shareware Industry Award multiple times. It's won the SIAF People's Choice Award. And now, because of all the things it can do, I'm giving SmartDraw the distinction of being a Dr. File Finder Favorite! And those are few and far between.
So, SmartDraw, by SmartDraw.com, is a "pick" and not just by me, but by thousands of people every day. It's a "favorite" and not just of yours truly, but of tens of thousands of users around the world. It's easy-to-use, it's intuitive, and it's loaded with features. It comes in several different versions so it can meet the needs of someone at home or someone running a business. You can create just about anything with it - from maps to circuit boards to the organizational chart of your Scout troop. So, if you don't try another program this year, you need to take a good look at SmartDraw. One of my personal Favorites since 1994! Try it!
SpyBlocker, by SpyBlocker Software, provides a service that many Internet surfers will find valuable! I know that many of you are really concerned about privacy when you're on the World Wide Web. You've read how sites drop "cookies" on your computer so they can track you. Well, SpyBlocker can gobble up those cookies and do a lot more besides! Don't care for all the ads you see as you surf around? Well, this baby can block those ads so you don't have to see them. One feature that impressed me is that the program is compatible with your "firewall" -- so you can still use it! Very nicely done!
SpyBlocker lets you control ads and even software that is powered by advertising! This type of software isn't as popular as it was a few years ago, but some is still around. And SpyBlocker can take the ads out of "ad-supported" software and still let you use the software! Very slick! Overall, the program stops you from being monitored and tracked. It stops hidden items from either sending or receiving information from your computer. Other nice features include the fact that it will work with all Web browsers -- I tested it with Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Opera. It also stops any foreign agents from loading with your browser -- very cool!
SpyBlocker, by SpyBlocker Software, is an ideal program for anyone that is concerned about Internet privacy. It lets you control "cookies" along with ads. It also lets you use any ad-supported software while removing the ads! Toss in being able to function with all versions of Windows and all Web browsers and you've got yourself a neat little package. So, if Internet security is a concern for you, give SpyBlocker a try. I think you'll find it very useful!
