TurboNote+, by SPIS Ltd, is a nifty utility that does "sticky" notes on your computer, but a whole lot more as well. The program lets you alter the colors of the notes so you can have yellow, green, purple, and more. As you enter more information into a note you can make it larger. One neat feature is that you can set an alarm for each note you write. You could easily use this product as a personal information manager, or PIM. One thing I tried was assigning different priorities to different color notes. So, yellow had top priority, green was less, and so on. The program has a very intuitive interface and is extremely easy-to-use and that makes it perfect for both new and experienced users.
TurboNote+ is great for use with the Internet because it's Web-enabled. For example, you can put Web page links and email addresses in your notes and just double-click on them to launch the appropriate program. Very slick! Another really cool feature is that you can create hyperlinks to files on your computer. That means you can link to text files, graphics, Word documents, and lots more right from your notes. And if all this weren't enough, you can even share your notes. That's right because TurboNote+ lets you send notes across a network or even the Internet. That means you can use the program, in effect, to send Instant messages. Very cool and also very handy. It means that you can use TurboNote+ to keep notes, organize your day, send messages, exchange Web and email links with family, friends, or co-workers, and lots more. You can even send your notes as an email message right from within the program! Slick!
TurboNote+, by SPIS, Ltd., is a powerful tool that's loaded with features. At the same time it's easy-to-use and that's a perfect combination in any software product. You can print notes, hide them, lock them, and they even back themselves up automatically. The program gives you all the features of a "sticky" note product, and so much more. You can use it to send messages across a network, send your notes as emails, and even use your notes as alarms. Turn off your computer and your notes will still be there when you turn it back on. There are settings for each individual note and the entire program is controlled from its tray icon. Impressive! So, if you're looking for a program to keep notes, organize your day, and let you communicate via IM's, this is it! I've looked at a lot of "note" programs and I'd say this is the best I've seen. Give it a try for yourself, I recommend it!
ReGet Deluxe, by ReGet Software, is a high-powered download manager that's loaded with features. It's the big brother or ReGet Junior, which is more for newer users, and ReGet Pro which is for average users. This one, however, has it all! For one, it has a scheduler, which can be really handy when you have a lot of files to download. Pick out all the programs you want to download and then schedule the downloads to start when you're asleep. Next time you come back to your computer, all the files you want will be there. Another very cool feature in ReGet is that it actually helps you download faster by splitting the file you're trying to get. So, for example, you go to download a 10 megabyte file and the program splits it into four 2.5MB sections and downloads all of them at once. Very cool!
ReGet Deluxe also maintains a complete history of your downloads. It also has a "Site Manager" which can prove invaluable to the frequent downloader. Another excellent feature found in ReGet Deluxe is the ability to resume file transfers that have stopped, for whatever reason. In 21 years of downloading I've found that few things are more frustrating than to be nearly through a large download and then have something go wrong. With ReGet Deluxe you can restart that 100 megabyte download that quit at 95MB and it starts up right where it left off! Very slick and a real time and frustration saver. And there's so much more. If you use a dial-up service, the program will dial for you, download the files you want, and then disconnect. And if all this weren't enough, ReGet Deluxe also has a powerful search function to help you look for music and other files. Nicely done!
ReGet Deluxe, by ReGet Software, is a powerful tool that's designed to make your online life easier. It's built-in scheduler, site manager, and history function are perfect for anyone who downloads files from the Internet. It gives you the ability to resume downloads that have quit part way through. And that in itself is a real time saver. With files getting larger and larger, ReGet Deluxe helps make the most of your time with the ability to split files into chunks and download all the chunks at once. Excellent! So, if you download files this is a program you need to try! It can help to make all of your downloading more pleasant and your time more productive! Try it out for yourself and you'll see what I mean!
SpeedUpMyPC, by LIUtilities, Inc., is a powerful utility for getting the most out of your computer. And what's particularly nice about this program is that it's fairly intuitive. Unlike some similar programs you wouldn't have to be a seasoned computer veteran or have a degree in Computer Science to benefit from it. To begin with, the program can monitor the uses of the computers processor (CPU). By doing this, it makes sure that CPU resources aren't monopolized by one or two greedy programs. And, if a program tries to snag too much processor time, SpeedUpMyPC can help prevent a crash! Very slick. Another way the program speeds up your system is by helping you to control which programs load each time your computer starts up. Eliminate things that aren't needed and not only does your computer start faster, but you also have more memory available.
SpeedUpMyPC also has a function that's designed to keep track of your systems memory. The program will monitor the amount of free RAM (Random Access Memory) and can automatically free up memory if and when it's needed. This also means fewer crashes. And, while I'm speaking of crashes, the program has a segment devoted to keeping crashes to a minimum. This portion of the program is designed to help save you from system crashes by giving you the ability to shut down problem programs before they cause a full-blown crash! And lastly, the program has a segment designed to improve your speed on the Internet. It can test your connection and give you an idea of what your true speed is. My satellite modem is clocking out at around 7.1 Mbps -- pretty good. At the same time, SpeedUpMyPC can optimize your computers settings, based on your type of connection, so you get the most speed possible.
SpeedUpMyPC is a well-rounded package for optimizing the key components of your computer.
