BurnQuick, by Triton Interactive, won the SIAF People's Choice Award for the "Most Votes" on Simtel! And it's one of the most clever little programs you'll ever see. Especially in this age when nearly everyone wants to "burn" things to CD. BurnQuick becomes a part of the "right-click" menu and is perfect for anyone who works with files, and that would be most of you. It's not flashy. You aren't bombarded by colorful graphics, and really, that's part of the appeal. BurnQuick is always at hand in Windows Explorer or whatever file manager you might use. All you have to do is right-click and the program is right there. Either burn the file to a CD immediately, or put it in a queue to burn later. Very slick!
If you elect to have a queue, you can "view" what's in the queue any time you want. Delete individual files from the queue if you like, or even clear the entire queue. And you don't just have to work with individual files. I've selected entire directories (folders) for burning. BurnQuick is an extremely handy and useful tool. It's perfect for burning files to CD either one at a time or in bunches. This isn't a program that's going to dazzle you with it's flashy graphics, but it will dazzle you with how well it works! If you're like me and you've come to use CDs in place of floppy disks, then this is a tool you want to have. Give it a try and see just how easy burning files to CD can be!!
FolderMatch, by Salty Brine Software, won the SIAF People's Choice Awards in the "Best Application" category. This is one program that I personally use all the time. The program is powerful, but at the same time it's easy-to-use. And it gives you a variety of options to help keep files and folders really synchronized. You can keep your desktop and laptop in perfect sync, or multiple computers on a network. I use it daily to keep specific folders on multiple machines right in sync with each other. And the program can compare files in a variety of ways. The simplest way is to look at the file size and date, but there are also advanced methods that I won't go into right now. Suffice it to say that FolderMatch is more than a match for any synchronization task!
FolderMatch is perfect if you have more than one computer. You can synchronize in a variety of ways. For example, with my email program I synchronize so that other computers on the network end up with copies identical to the copy on my computer. But, with something like the "My Documents" folder, I have FolderMatch do a comparison in two directions. It finds what's new on my computer and say Computer #2. It finds what's new on computer #2 to and then it sends files in both directions. End result is that both My Documents folders are the same. Very slick. This is another great program that's become a part of my personal software toolbox and I use it every single day. So, take the time to give it a try and I think it'll quickly become a favorite of yours as well.
PayWindow Payroll System, by ZPay Payroll Systems, Inc., won the Shareware Industry Award in the "Best Business Application or Utility" category. This is a really high-powered payroll program that first appeared on the mark in 1983! As time has gone by the program has evolved right along with the computers it runs on. If you have a small or medium-sized business, this is a perfect program for doing your payroll. You don't even need to be an accountant to understand it. It's easy to do a payroll based on any period you like including salary, commission, and hourly. You can even pay people who aren't regular "employees". And it's so fast and easy-to-use. With PayWindow you can do all the things you'd expect to do with a first-class payroll system. That's right -- figure out payroll, print your checks, and even do forms like W-2, 1099, and more!
PayWindow Payroll System is the real deal. It has all of the features anyone could want in an efficient payroll system. The ability to do payroll, editable State and Federal tax tables, the ability to handle a variety of payroll schedules, and more. WinFlash Educator, by Open Window Software, won the Shareware Industry Award in the "Best Educational Program" category. This is just a great educational tool for people of all ages. Sure, it's great for children, but it can also be used by adults. WinFlash Educator can be used by anyone to create learning tools for any subject, on any level. It actually keeps tracks your progress so you know how you're doing. And then, it puts more focus on the things you have trouble with! What can be better than that? Nothing! And you can even add sounds, video, and graphics to make your flash card sets really special. And if that's not enough, you can even take and export your card decks out to a PDA device for PocketPC or Palm and study on the go. Slick!
WinFlash Educator is quite simply a great program for learning anything. There are several different levels including basic, scholar, and educator. That means you can get exactly the one that's right for you. And it's great for people of all ages because it gives you the flexibility you need to learn! WinFlash Educator is one of the best educational programs I've ever looked at. So, do a favor for your children, and yourself, and give it a try. I recommend it highly!

Michael E. Callahan, known around the world by the trademarked name "Dr. File Finder", is regarded as the world's leading expert on shareware.
