AnyWhere Pro, by Liquid Mirror Enterprises, is nifty utility that gives you a lot of power for managing files. This is the kind of tool that really appeals to me because it can be useful to everyone that looks at it. The program becomes a part of the context or "right-click" menu, which means it's right there when you need it. I felt the program had an interface that was intuitive and also very easy-to-use. And that makes it perfect for both new and experienced users. With just a mouse click or two you can quickly and easily move, copy, or rename files. If you want to delete files, the program has a secure "wipe" feature so that files can't be recovered. Very slick! The program also lets you designate "Favorite" folders, or directories, which makes it very easy to do things quickly. The program even provides you with a "One-Click Copy" and "One-Click Move" function that utilizes your Favorites. Excellent!
AnyWhere Pro also makes it very easy to ZIP up files and all from the "right-click" menu. You can maintain directory structure, give your ZIP file a name, and more. So, it's really multiple tools ... a file manager, and a file compression utility. Hey, but I'm not even done yet. The program comes with more "tools" that you can quickly access. With a click you can make any read-only file "writable". You can wipe files you want to delete and copy long or short file names to the Windows clipboard. Another really slick feature is the ability to replace text in files right from AnyWhere Pro. This one is so cool you have to see it to believe it. You can manager your Favorites, make new directories (folders), and you can do it all with a few mouse clicks.
AnyWhere Pro, by Liquid Mirror Enterprises, is powerful little tool that does a lot of things. Fitting into the "right-click" menu, it's always close at hand and yet also quickly out-of-the-way. Use it to quickly copy, rename, move, ZIP, or securely delete files. It can replace text in multiple files, make read-only files writable, copy filenames to the Windows clipboard, and more! And best of all, it does these things with just a few mouse clicks. The other thing I like about this program is that it's very clever and utilizes a built-in part of Windows. So, I'm not only making it a "Pick", I'm also making it a Dr. File Finder Favorite! and those are few and far between. So, if you're looking for a powerful utility that's a file manager, compression program, provides secure deletion, and more, look no further!
MyInfo, by Milenix Software, Ltd., if a freeform database that makes it easy to keep track of all kinds of data. You can use it to store and retrieve a wide range of information. And, on top of that, you can also use it as a PIM or "personal information manager." It'll handle your daily schedule and more. To give your data extra zing, the program supports RTF, or Rich Text Format. That means you can have text in bold, italics, and more. Another very cool feature is that the program allows you to pull things like pictures. Take a look at the screen shot -- it's me and my granddaughter Cahlia! The program also gives you the ability to organize your information by laying it out like an outline.
MyInfo has an interface that's intuitive and very easy-to-use and that makes it ideal for users with all levels of experience. It lets you create a variety of levels, just like an outline. If you want, you can even "clone" an existing item and that can be a real time-saver. The program supports OLE, or Object Linking and Embedding, and lets you drag links, text, and pictures into it from other programs. A really quick and easy way to add new data. And, if you're worried about your data being safe, the program also has password protection. Slick! On top of all this, the program also lets you export data as a Web page, offers support for all major outline programs and lets you import from them. It also lets you export to TreePad Lite, Plus, or Business, and more!
MyInfo, by Milenix Software Ltd., was nominated in 2003 for a Shareware Industry Award. It's a powerful organizational tool that's also intuitive and easy-to-use. And that's a combination that's hard to beat. You can customize the programs toolbars and menus, and that's something I really like. Import from other programs, export to a Web page, drag and drop new data, and lots more. So, if you'll looking for something to help keep you more organized and on top of things, take a good look at MyInfo. It may be just what you're looking for.
PhotoShow Deluxe, by Simple Star, Inc., is a powerful program for working with and utilizing all of your digital photos. The interface is very straightforward and the program is easy-to-use. Tell it where to look and the program will pull in all your digital pictures, placing them in "albums." That helps you to keep all of your photos separated. I created albums for holidays, nature, my new granddaughter, and more. And, once you get started there are lots of things you can do with your pictures. For example, the program has a screen saver option. And, in just a few minutes I was able to create a very nice screensaver utilizing some of my pictures. Very nicely done!
PhotoShow Deluxe lets you watch a slide show of your pictures. And, at the same time you can stop the show, change the speed at which pictures change, and more. It also lets you "edit" your pictures, so you can make them the best they can be! Rotate them, crop them, and remove "red eye". You can also add text to give more meaning to your albums. On top of all this, the program makes it very easy to share your photos with family and friends. You can email a link, utilize the "ShutterFly" service for ordering prints, or burn your pictures to CD right from within the program. A very cool feature is the ability to create a Web album that you can upload to your own Web site. Just select the pictures you want, select the option, and the program generates the HTML code all by itself. It even provides you with instructions on what to do when the program is done. Excellent!
PhotoShow Deluxe by Simple Star, Inc., is a beautifully done program for working with and sharing your photos. It lets you organize them, create albums, slide shows - including slide shows with music, screen savers, and more. It even helps you to get your photos on popular gifts -- t-shirts, mugs, mousepads, and playing cards. Select the photo you want, the item you want, and it shows you a 3 dimensional image of the gift! How cool is that? VERY! And then, if that weren't enough, you can order the gifts from within the program. I've looked at a good number of programs that deal with photos, and this is one of the overall best I've seen. So, if you're looking for a program that makes it easy to do things with your pictures, this is it! Give it a try, I recommend it highly.
