Description by Publisher
language. Force is designed to combine the advantages of well-known
languages, like xBase and C. Force has a high-level syntax similar to
xBase, and offers built-in database services according to the xBase
standards. Unlike xBase, however, Force generates native code that is
small and fast like C programs. In addition, the Force language has low
level constructs (pointers, structures, etc.) and library services that
appoint it to be a uniquely wide spectrum development tool, useful for
writing virtually any sort of programs, from business applications to TSR
utilities.
While Force 4.0 is a standalone application development package, the code
written with it can be linked with C and Clipper applications - a feature
that makes Force an attractive supplementary tool for projects based on
other languages. By its easy-to-understand appearance, Force is also
suitable for beginner programmers as a starter language. While this
version of Force is primarily designed for the IBM PC/DOS platform, it
also allows the creation of 16-bit Windows executables and DLLs. The
Force 4.0 package includes compiler, library, linker, debugger, IDE,
utilities, extensive documentation, and sample sources.
