Description by Publisher
QuikGrid is a program which will read in a set of scattered data points (x, y, z) which represents a surface. QuikGrid will generate a regular grid from this data and then display the surface as a contour map, or as a 3d grid viewed from an arbitrary viewpoint, optionally with hidden lines removed. The display may be zoomed, panned and rotated. The grid may be output in the ER Mapper raster format, as a DXF 3DFACE file, as a VRML (Virtual Reality Meta Language) file or as a set of xyz coordinates for input to other programs. The grid and contours may be output as a 3D DXF file, with the grid and each contour on it's own DXF layer. QuikGrid may generate a 200x200 grid from 16,000 data points in about 2 seconds on a 500Mhz Pentium. It has been used to process 3 million data points to generate a 3000x3000 grid. It is easy to use and will run on modest hardware platforms.
