Field format can be changed on the fly without affecting the permanent format
in file . This is a great boon when tackling a job for the first time when the
correct format has not yet crystallized. We feel this software is a good 1st
encounter with the raw documents. One fixed length record file is created at a
time . It can contain multiple formats though. Thisdata file can be read into
any RDBMS package with simple native programs. Wherein multiple files and
indexes can be created.
Single record length is limited to 312 characters. But using
'CIRCLE' in the format can be extended to 9 times this. Simple but
comprehensive formatting requirements cover all jobs , and do not require a
programmer for creating the user interface. Numeric embedded in alpha like in
so many off line data entry terminals is also available.
