MonMalloc is a wrap around for all memory management calls, before executing each call extensive checks are made to detect all possible problems. Detected problems are fixed either by avoiding the call or by trying to fix the arguments. Detailed reports are provided on all problems detected and on all calls. Additional statistics reports are available to enable optimizations of the memory management
In addition to catching problems during development time MonMAlloc can be left also for the production version. In this mode MonMAlloc can catch problem and try to fix them. This way provides a solution for problems in the application, which were not detected by the acceptance tests. To use MonMAlloc in the distribution version one can shut down all the reports that MonMAlloc generates in order not to confuse the end user.
