Indus enables ubiquitous computing - computing across a variety of computing platforms, hardware and devices. The foundation of Indus is its programming language also called - Indus - that enables implementation of software agents that can cooperatively execute any task across a distributed system. Indus also features a set of run time libraries that automate service discovery, routing, run time binding/connections, transactions management, policies, etc. The Indus Standard IDE provides a development environment for creating Indus projects, authoring Indus programs, compiling code and deploying agents across a distributed network.
