Is Windows crashing on you far too often? I had that problem before I starting a regular routine of fixing my registry. The problem with the registry is that not only when you uninstall most software it leaves behind registry entries and, at least on my system, the registry gets bad entries just sitting there. While I'm pretty brave there's a limit to my bravery and the registry is far too complex for me to do anyhing significant by hand. Oh sure, I could try and hunt them down but there aren't enough hours in the day.
